Improving our outdoor area- considering nature

Lesson: Understanding the World

We have had a few little birds visit our playground over the year so we thought about how we could improve our outdoor area for them. We purchased bird feeders to attract more birds and help to care for them by feeding them through the winter months. We were then inspired to create our own bird art which we displayed on branches in our outdoor area. We now have a birds nest too and we hope one day a bird will lay its eggs there! This project has helped us to expland our moral values and think about how we can help to look after other living things in our environment, as well as social development, working together to achieve a common goal.
